Kumasi Asante Kotoko, one of the biggest football clubs in Ghana has won the SIC Nyemitei/Sports Writers Association Cup Match for a record 14th time by beating Obuasi Ashanti Gold by a lone goal through a late free-kick from left-footed Eric Donkor. This was enough to deliver the new 2015 HP Nyemitei SWAG Cup to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II alongside Mr. Allen Mike Hammah, the Board Chairman of SIC Insurance Company, the headline sponsor of the prestigious Cup presented the new 24 inches trophy to the captain of the Kumasi based club.
SIC Insurance has partnered the Sports Writers Association of Ghana for the past 18 years to host the last game of the football season in Ghana. The SIC Nyemitei/SWAG Cup match is one of the CSR platform for the insurance giant to help develop football in the country.
