The Association of SIC Agents (ASICA) held its 10th Triennial Delegates Conference Riding on the theme: “Managing the Customer from Sales to Claims” at the Noda Hotel in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region, with notable personalities gracing the conference.
Present at the ceremony was the Apagyahene, Oheneba Owusu Afriyie, who represented the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the Special Guest of Honour. Also present was the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi who Chaired the event and the Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Justice Ofori.
Addressing the delegate, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIC Insurance Plc, Dr. Ben Jimmy Heymann said the discourse on managing the customer from sales to claims, should have happened way before the advent of the dreadful COVID-19 pandemic. However, the pandemic has also given the platform to capitalize on the current challenges and turn them into real opportunities.
On his part the Managing Director of SIC Insurance Plc, Mr. Stephen Kwame Oduro, touched on the immense contribution of ASICA to the company and the Insurance Industry at large. He further added that the theme for the conference reflects the need for change and innovation in managing our customers who are the focus of the company’s operations. He said the Insurance landscape is shifting though and will favour companies whose operations are modelled to innovate for long-term sustainability.
Mr. Oduro urged all members of the ASICA fraternity to help push the insurance penetration agenda. He assured the Sales Executives that SIC Insurance is leveraging on automated technology i.e. the introduction of digital platforms like the SIC Insure digital application to help achieve the transformation needed to drive speed and efficient customer management.
At the end of the three-day conference, Mr. Kennedy Smith was elected as the next President of the Association, along with a new crop of leaders for a three-year term.
