SIC Insurance supports first edition of the 'Center of the World' Golf tournament was organized by the Ghana Tourism Development Corporation at the Tema Country Golf course.
The first edition of the 'Center of the World' Golf tournament was organized by the Ghana Tourism Development Corporation at the Tema Country Golf course as part of activities to create awareness about the interjectional point of Longitude and Latitude 0°, located in the Atlantic Ocean, with its nearest habitat place for mankind located in Tema, Ghana.
The Greenwich meridian line passes through the Tema Golf course, Tema Post and the Greenwich Presbyterian Church at Community 1 in Tema-Ghana.
SIC Insurance, Ghana’s largest insurer of choice was a major sponsor and partner to this maiden Golf tournament which saw over 100 participants.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Corporation, Mr. Kwadwo Odame Antwi, said the Tourism Corporation is working assiduously to make the Tema Golf Course a world standard golf resort and rename it “Centre of the World Golf Club”.
The Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company, Mr. Stephen Oduro, applauded the efforts of the Tourism Development Corporation and indicated that SIC Insurance would collaborate to put in place an insurance package for all golfers when the new project comes into effect.
